Special Functions:
  • Throttle matching
This refers to using an automotive diagnostic scanner to perform initialization settings on the throttle actuator, so that the ECU's learned values return to the initial state. Only in this way can the action of the throttle (or idle speed motor) be controlled and adjusted more accurately to regulate the intake air volume. 
  • Situations requiring throttle matching:
a) After replacing the electronic control unit, the ECU has not yet stored the relevant characteristics of throttle operation, so throttle matching is required.
b) After the electronic control unit is powered off, the memory in the ECU is lost, so throttle matching is required.
c) After replacing the throttle assembly, throttle matching is required.
d) After replacing or removing and reinstalling the intake tract, the coordinated operation between the ECU and the throttle body for idle speed control is affected, so throttle matching is required.
e) After cleaning the throttle, although the characteristics of the idle throttle potentiometer have not changed, the intake air volume has changed under the same throttle opening, and the idle speed control characteristics have changed. At this point, throttle matching is required.
  • Steering angle reset
This refers to finding the relative zero point position at which the vehicle maintains straight-line driving. With this position as a reference, the ECU can calculate the accurate angle during left and right steering.
 
Generally, after replacing the steering angle position sensor, replacing steering system mechanical components (such as the steering gear, steering column, tie rod ball joint, steering knuckle), performing four-wheel alignment, or carrying out body repair, steering angle reset and zeroing are required. 
  • Maintenance light reset
When the vehicle maintenance light is on, it indicates that the vehicle is due for maintenance. After completing the maintenance, the mileage or driving time must be reset to zero, so that the maintenance light will turn off and the system will start a new maintenance cycle.
Maintenance light reset must be performed after replacing engine oil or replacing electrical components that monitor oil life.
  • Brake pad replacement
When the brake pads wear down to a certain thickness, they will rub against the brake pad sensor wire. At this point, the brake pad sensor wire will send a signal to the onboard computer, prompting brake pad replacement. After replacing the brake pads, a brake pad reset must be performed; otherwise, the vehicle will continue to give a warning.
Situations requiring reset:
a) After replacing the brake pads and brake pad wear sensor;
b) When the brake pad indicator light is on;
c) After repairing a short circuit in the brake pad sensor circuit;
d) After replacing the servo motor;
  • Diesel Particulate Filter (D#P#F) regeneration
 (1) The D#P#F regeneration function mainly uses combustion oxidation methods on a regular basis (such as high-temperature heating and combustion, fuel additives, or catalysts to lower the ignition point of particulate matter for combustion) to remove particulate matter trapped in the filter, so that the filter performance is always maintained at optimal stability.
(2) D#P#F regeneration matching is required in the following situations: a) After replacing the exhaust backpressure sensor; b) After removing or replacing the particulate filter; c) After removing or replacing the fuel additive injector; d) After removing or replacing the catalytic oxidizer; e) When the DPF regeneration fault light is on, matching after repair; f) After repair or replacement of the DPF regeneration control module.
  • Tire pressure reset

(1) When the vehicle tire pressure fault indicator light is on, after repairs are completed, the tire pressure reset function needs to be used to reset the tire pressure and turn off the tire pressure fault indicator light.

(2) In cases such as tire pressure being too low or a tire leak, replacing or installing tire pressure monitoring equipment, replacing tires, damage to the tire pressure sensor, or tire rotation on vehicles equipped with tire pressure monitoring, tire pressure reset must be performed after maintenance is completed.
  • ABS bleeding
(1) When air is present in the ABS system, the ABS bleeding function is needed to bleed the brake system, thereby restoring the braking sensitivity of the ABS system.
(2) In cases such as replacing the ABS control unit, ABS pump, brake master cylinder, brake wheel cylinder, brake lines, or brake fluid, the ABS bleeding function must be used to bleed the ABS system.
  • Battery matching

(1) Battery matching refers to using automotive diagnostic equipment to perform a reset process on the vehicle battery monitoring unit, clearing the existing fault information related to insufficient battery charge, and enabling it to rematch, using the relevant information of the current battery as the standard for the monitoring unit to monitor.

(2) Battery matching is required in the following situations: a) Replacing the main battery. Battery matching is needed to clear the original insufficient charge information, avoiding relevant control modules detecting false information, which could cause some electronic auxiliary functions of the vehicle to fail, such as the auto start-stop function, the sunroof losing its one-touch function, power windows losing their auto function, etc.; b) Battery monitoring sensor. Use the battery matching function to rematch the control module with the monitoring sensor, so that the battery charge usage can be detected more accurately, avoiding incorrect messages on the instrument cluster and false alarms.
  • Injector coding
Writing the actual injector code into the ECU, or rewriting the code stored in the ECU to match the injector code of each cylinder, so that the fuel injection quantity of each cylinder can be controlled or corrected more accurately.

Usually, after replacing the ECU or injectors, it is necessary to confirm or recode the injectors of each cylinder, so that the cylinders can better identify the injectors of each cylinder and precisely control fuel injection.

  • Urea reset

Urea reset (diesel engine exhaust aftertreatment): After the diesel exhaust fluid (automotive urea) is replaced or filled up, a urea reset operation is required.

  • Window/door calibration
Perform window/door matching to restore the ECU to its initial memory and restore the automatic up and automatic down functions of the power windows.
  • A/F calibration
Used to set or learn the air/fuel ratio parameters. 
  • Transmission learning 
1. This function can complete the transmission self-learning and improve shift quality. 
2. After the transmission is removed, reinstalled, or repaired (or after the battery is disconnected on some vehicle models), shift delay or shock issues may occur. At this point, this function needs to be performed so that the transmission can automatically compensate according to driving conditions, achieving more comfortable and ideal shift quality. 
  • Automatic A/C initialization
When the vehicle air conditioning electronic control unit is replaced, the actuator is replaced, or the memory in the electronic control unit is lost, A/C initialization learning is required.
  • NOx reset
NOx reset (NOx sensor) is used to detect the nitrogen oxide (NOx) content in engine exhaust. After NOx fault reinitialization and replacement of the NOx catalytic converter, the catalytic converter learned values stored in the engine ECU need to be reset.
  • Electronic water pump activation
Before bleeding the cooling system, use this function to activate the electronic water pump.
  • Start-stop setting
The vehicle's auto start-stop function can be enabled or disabled by programming the ECU to reveal hidden features (provided that the vehicle has hidden features and the hardware supports it).
  • EGR self-learning
This function can be used for self-learning after cleaning or replacing the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve.
  • Power balance
During the power stroke of each cylinder, power balance monitors crankshaft acceleration to determine the relative power contributed by each cylinder. 
  • Tire modification
 Tire size parameter setting after tire modification or replacement. 
  • Gear learning
Tooth signal learning must be performed after replacing the engine ECU, crankshaft position sensor, crankshaft flywheel, or after a fault code indicating that tooth signal learning has not been performed.
  • GPF regeneration
After long-term use of the particulate filter, fuel consumption will increase and engine output power will decrease. At this point, the GPF needs to be replaced or regenerated.
  • Hidden features unlocking
For vehicles with hidden features, the hidden features can be reconfigured through later hidden features unlocking. 
  • IMMO matching
To prevent the vehicle from being used with an illegal key, the IMMO key matching function enables the vehicle's IMMO control system to identify and authorize the remote key before the vehicle can be started and used normally. IMMO key matching is required when replacing the ignition switch key, ignition switch, instrument cluster, engine control unit (ECU), body control module (BCM), or remote control battery.
