1. The XTOOL D8S is designed for:

It is an automotive smart diagnostic system with an 8-inch LCD display, designed for full-system automotive diagnostics and OBDII functions.

• Full-System Diagnostics: Perform OE-level diagnosis on all available systems, including reading ECU information, reading and clearing fault codes, viewing live data, reading freeze frames, performing actuation tests and accessing special functions.
• Bi-Directional Control / Active Test: Send commands to vehicle systems or components to perform active tests, such as EVAP Test, Fuel Pump Test, Fuel Injector Test, Cycling A/C Clutch On/Off, Cooling Fan Test and other component tests.
• ECU Coding & ECU Configuration: Perform ECU Coding to customize OE settings on specific vehicles. ECU Configuration can activate hidden features or disable certain vehicle functions.
• Offline Programming: Support Programmable Module Installation (PMI) for specific Ford, Lincoln and Mazda vehicles.
• Key Programming: Support Read PIN Code, Add New Key, Disable Lost Key, Remote Learning, Key Learning and Key Matching functions.
• VAG Guided Functions: Provide step-by-step guidance for certain complicated maintenance services or advanced functions on Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda vehicles.
• Module Topology Mapping: Scan available vehicle modules and display their diagnostic status and communication structure through a tree mapping. The function is available for specific vehicle makes, including GM, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, BMW, Benz, Hyundai and Mazda.
• Live Data & Data Analysis: Display and graph live data, combine up to 8 live data streams into one chart or display up to 8 individual graphs, record and replay live data, and export live data to CSV files.
• Diagnostic Reports: Generate, save, print and share diagnostic reports, including pre- and post-repair reports.

4. Please note the following limitations:

• Not for 24V Heavy-Duty Trucks: Designed for 12V petrol sedans, SUVs, minivans, and light-duty trucks. It does not support 24V heavy-duty trucks.
• Vehicle-Specific Compatibility: Functions and menus vary by vehicle make and model year, and not all functions are available for all vehicles.
• Auto VIN / Auto Scan: Auto VIN and Auto Scan do not work on all vehicles. Manual VIN input, automatic detection, and manual vehicle selection are available when required.
• ECU Coding: ECU Coding varies by vehicle and is not universally compatible. It is used to change supported vehicle settings and is not ECU Programming.
• DoIP: DoIP functionality is vehicle-specific and does not work on all vehicles.
• Module Topology: Topology Mapping is not available for all vehicle makes.
• Special & Service Functions: Service and maintenance functions vary by vehicle and may not be available for all vehicles.
• ADAS Calibration: ADAS Calibration is an optional function and requires the ASCT-1000 ADAS system.
• Compatibility Check: Vehicle compatibility should be confirmed by Make, Model, Year, and VIN before purchase.

ASCT-1000 ADAS: The optional ADAS Calibration function requires the ASCT-1000 ADAS system.

8+12 Cable Adapter: D8S can work with an 8+12 Cable Adapter for Chrysler 2018 and later vehicles. The 8+12 Cable Adapter is not included.

During the free update period, software updates can:

The software update price is $199 per year after the free update period.

Firmware Update

1. Go to Diagnosis → Ford (USA) or another vehicle brand → Manual Selection to activate the firmware update process.
   
2. Return to the main menu.
   
3. Go to Settings → VCI Information and check whether VCI firmware information is displayed.
   
4. Select Update VCI Firmware until “Update completed” is displayed.
