With the Xhorse FCA 12 8 adapter, aftermarket scan tools can access full diagnostic functions on SGW equipped vehicles as if they were not restricted by SGW.

How to Use Xhorse FCA 12 8 Universal Adapter

When scanning a Chrysler vehicle with a Security Gateway Module SGW, you may see a message stating the device is unable to communicate with the control unit. Follow the steps below to resolve the issue.

Step One Locate and unplug the 12 pin and 8 pin connectors of the SGW module
Step Two Connect the FCA 12 8 adapter directly to the 12 pin and 8 pin connectors that were connected to the SGW module on the vehicle
After this connection, normal communication with the vehicle can be restored
